Beliefs and Membership

We dedicate our children to God and practice believer’s baptism through immersion. Before baptism, classes are given on living out our faith and on church history. We accept members with a previous Christian baptism while encouraging attendance in a future membership class. In joining our church all persons are asked to make a public declaration of their faith, answering these questions: Do you believe that Jesus is God’s Son and do you claim Him as your Lord and Savior? Do you promise to turn away from sin and turn towards Jesus as an example of how you will live? Do you promise to be loyal to Christ’s Church upholding the church with your prayers, your presence, your substance and your service?

Each member has a vote in congregational business meetings where leaders are chosen and decisions are made. Members are encouraged to be involved by using their talents and skills to serve and meet the needs of the congregation and those we minister to. We encourage worshiping, working, learning and having fun together as a family of believers. We also encourage private times of Bible study, prayer, and service.

We offer bread and cup communion four times a year, two of which are included in a Love Feast. These feasts are a kind of reenactment of Jesus’ last supper with His disciples. We silently confess our sins; humbly wash another’s feet then eat a simple meal together which includes the bread and cup.
