Youth

Rummel Church of the Brethren offers many different activities and services for youth at various times of the year.  All adult leaders who help out must have a criminal background check to ensure the safety of the youth involved.

Sunday School – Sunday school is offered to youth who are in grades 6-12 on Sunday mornings at 9:30.  Youth enjoy the comfortable “couch” room for their Bible study which includes its application to their daily life and world. One Sunday each year, youth spend this hour filling shoe boxes with items provided by the church for shipment to needy children around the world.

Youth Group – Rummel COB’s youth group enjoy working together at fundraisers such as soup and salad buffets, spaghetti dinners, and car washes. Every four years youth are encouraged to attend the Church of the Brethren National Youth Conference in Colorado.

Combined Youth – In cooperation with the two other church youth groups in town (Scalp Level COB and Windber COB), youth from all three churches meet together on Sunday evenings during the school year for Bible study, food and activities.  Youth also plan, lead and participate in the annual Sunrise Service on Easter. The meeting site rotates among the three churches.  For more infomation please visit Mark Murchie’s Combined Youth page.

Participation – Youth are invited to be greeters, ushers, scripture readers, etc. During worship services, youth are invited to participate in the choir.
